Payments & Fees

Rec Soccer provides payment tracking tools but does not hold or manage team funds. Team payments flow directly between users through their preferred payment apps.

1. Who Collects Payments

  • Rec Soccer (Attuned Ventures LLC): We collect payments only for in-app purchases (such as Rec Coins) and premium features. These are processed through Braintree, Apple App Store, or Google Play Store.
  • Apple & Google: The Apple App Store and Google Play Store collect payments for in-app purchases made on their respective platforms.
  • Braintree: Braintree (a PayPal service) processes card payments on behalf of Rec Soccer for certain transactions.
  • Team Captains/Organizers: For team-related payments (league fees, jerseys, etc.), team captains collect payments directly from players using their own payment methods. Rec Soccer only provides tracking tools.

2. How Team Payment Tracking Works

  • We Don't Process Team Payments: Rec Soccer does not process, hold, or transfer funds between team members. We provide tools to track who owes what and who has paid.
  • Direct Payments: Players send payments directly to their team captain using apps like Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, PayPal, bank transfer, or cash.
  • Payment Confirmation: When a player marks a payment as complete, or when a captain confirms receipt, the payment status is updated in the app.
  • No Middleman: We never touch your team's money. Funds flow directly from player to captain (or whoever is designated to receive them).

3. Fees & Deductions

  • Rec Soccer Fees: Using our team payment tracking feature is free. We do not charge fees on team-to-team payments.
  • In-App Purchase Fees:
    • Apple App Store: Apple charges a 15-30% commission on in-app purchases.
    • Google Play Store: Google charges a 15-30% commission on in-app purchases.
    • These fees are built into the displayed prices—you pay what you see.
  • Braintree Fees: If you make a purchase processed through Braintree, standard processing fees may apply. These are disclosed before completing payment.
  • Third-Party Payment App Fees: Payment apps like Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, and PayPal may have their own fees for certain types of transactions (e.g., instant transfers, credit card funding). Check with your payment app for details.

4. Refund Policy

  • In-App Purchases (Rec Coins, etc.):
    • Refunds for purchases made through the Apple App Store should be requested directly from Apple.
    • Refunds for purchases made through Google Play should be requested directly from Google.
    • We may provide refunds at our discretion for technical issues. Contact support@recsoccer.app.
  • Subscriptions: You may cancel subscriptions at any time through your device's app store. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not provide prorated refunds for partial billing periods.
  • Team Payments: Refunds for payments made between team members (via Venmo, Cash App, etc.) are handled directly between the payer and payee. Rec Soccer cannot process these refunds.

5. Chargebacks & Disputes

  • Contact Us First: Before initiating a chargeback with your bank or credit card company, please contact us at support@recsoccer.app. We're happy to help resolve issues.
  • Chargeback Consequences: Initiating a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the issue with us may result in:
    • Suspension or termination of your account
    • Loss of any in-app purchases or virtual goods
    • Ineligibility for future refunds
  • Fraudulent Chargebacks: We reserve the right to pursue fraudulent chargebacks and may report them to appropriate authorities.
  • Team Payment Disputes: Disputes between team members about payments should be resolved directly between those parties. Rec Soccer is not responsible for these disputes but may provide transaction records if requested.

6. Currency & Pricing

  • All prices are displayed in US Dollars (USD) unless otherwise noted.
  • Prices include applicable platform fees from Apple and Google.
  • Prices may vary by region due to local regulations, exchange rates, and platform policies.
  • We reserve the right to change prices at any time. Price changes do not affect purchases already completed.

7. Payment Security

  • We never store your full credit card number or banking details on our servers.
  • All payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant providers (Stripe, Apple, Google).
  • Use strong, unique passwords and enable two-factor authentication where available.
  • Report suspicious activity to security@recsoccer.app.

8. Team Captain Responsibilities

  • Team captains who collect payments are responsible for:
    • Clearly communicating payment amounts and due dates to team members
    • Distributing collected funds appropriately (to leagues, facilities, etc.)
    • Handling refund requests from their team members
    • Maintaining their own records for accounting purposes
  • Rec Soccer is not liable for funds collected by team captains or disputes between team members.
