Important Notice

  • Rec Soccer is currently in active development (beta). Features and functionality may change without notice.
  • Rec Soccer is operated by Attuned Ventures LLC as a third-party software platform provider.
  • Attuned Ventures LLC is NOT a party to any agreements, arrangements, or disputes between players, teams, team captains, facilities, leagues, or event organizers.

1. Our Commitment to You

  • Rec Soccer is operated by Attuned Ventures LLC.
  • We only collect data needed to provide and improve the app.
  • We never sell your personal information to third parties.
  • This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account info: name, email, phone number, profile photo.
  • Player info: position, availability, team affiliations.
  • Activity: game RSVPs, attendance, chat messages, posts.
  • Device info: app version, device type, crash logs.
  • Location: only if you enable location-based features.
  • Biometric data: Face ID or fingerprint for secure sign-in (if enabled).

3. Sources of Information

  • Directly from you when you create an account, join teams, book, message, or contact support.
  • From teammates or organizers who add you to teams or submit attendance and roster details on your behalf.
  • From facilities, leagues, or partners when you participate in their events or bookings.
  • From integrated providers (authentication, payments, analytics) consistent with their terms and your settings.

4. Payment Processors

  • Stripe: We use Stripe to process payments for in-app purchases (Rec Coins) and premium subscriptions. Stripe collects payment card information, billing address, and transaction details. Stripe's privacy policy applies to this data: stripe.com/privacy
  • Apple App Store: In-app purchases on iOS are processed by Apple. Apple collects payment information and transaction data according to their privacy policy: apple.com/legal/privacy
  • Google Play Store: In-app purchases on Android are processed by Google. Google collects payment information and transaction data according to their privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy
  • Team Payments: When tracking team payments, we do not process the actual payment. Users send payments directly via Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, PayPal, or other methods. We only record that a payment was made.

5. Third-Party Services

  • Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for authentication, database, cloud messaging, and analytics. Firebase Privacy
  • Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand app and website usage patterns. This includes device information, session duration, and feature usage. Google Privacy
  • Google AdMob: We display ads through AdMob, which may collect device identifiers and usage data for ad personalization. Google Ads Privacy
  • Klipy: We use Klipy for additional advertising services.
  • Stripe: We use Stripe to process payments for in-app purchases and premium subscriptions. Stripe Privacy
  • Cloud Hosting: Our app is hosted on secure cloud infrastructure provided by Google Cloud Platform.
  • Push Notifications: We use Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send notifications.

6. Biometric Authentication

  • You may enable Face ID or fingerprint sign-in for convenience.
  • Biometric data is processed on your device, not sent to our servers.
  • We only receive confirmation that authentication succeeded.
  • You can disable biometric login anytime in Settings.

7. Data Storage & Security

  • Encryption: All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL.
  • Secure Storage: Your data is stored on secure, encrypted cloud servers provided by Google Cloud Platform.
  • Access Controls: Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel who need it to provide support or maintain the service.
  • Regular Audits: We regularly review and update our security practices.
  • Password Security: Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms and never stored in plain text.

8. Cookies & Analytics Tracking

  • Website Cookies: Our website uses cookies to remember your preferences (such as language selection) and analyze site traffic.
  • Analytics Cookies: We use Google Analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our website. These cookies collect anonymous information about page views, time on site, and navigation patterns.
  • Essential Cookies: Some cookies are essential for the website to function properly (e.g., cookie consent preferences).
  • Cookie Consent: When you first visit our website, you can choose to accept or decline non-essential cookies.
  • Mobile App: The mobile app uses similar tracking technologies for analytics, but does not use traditional browser cookies.
  • Opt-Out: You can disable cookies in your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

9. How We Use Your Data

  • Run core features: scheduling, rosters, chat, payments.
  • Send notifications about games, teams, and app updates.
  • Improve the app based on usage patterns and feedback.
  • Moderate chat messages using AI to keep the community safe.
  • Prevent fraud and ensure platform safety.
  • Comply with legal requirements when necessary.

10. Legal Bases (Where Applicable)

  • Consent: For location services, certain marketing, or optional analytics where required.
  • Contract: To deliver the services you request, such as managing teams, bookings, and notifications.
  • Legitimate Interests: Product improvement, security, and fraud prevention, balanced with your rights.
  • Legal Obligations: Tax, accounting, safety, and compliance requirements.

11. AI & Content Moderation

  • We use OpenAI to automatically review chat messages for harmful content such as harassment, hate speech, threats, spam, and explicit material.
  • Message text is sent to OpenAI's API for moderation analysis only.
  • OpenAI does not use your messages to train their models (per their API data usage policy).
  • No message content is stored by OpenAI after processing.
  • AI moderation is automated—no human reads your messages unless they are flagged.
  • Only messages flagged by AI may be reviewed by our team to enforce community guidelines.
  • Non-flagged messages are never read by staff.

12. Push Notifications

  • We send push notifications for games, messages, and updates.
  • You control notification permissions in your device settings.
  • Manage notification types in the app's Settings screen.
  • You can disable all notifications anytime—the app still works.

13. Advertising

  • We display advertisements from Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, and rewarded video ads) and Klipy to keep the app free.
  • Ad partners may collect device IDs, IP address, and usage data for ad personalization and measurement.
  • You may see personalized ads based on your interests.
  • Rewarded video ads are optional—you may choose to watch them in exchange for Rec Coins. Rewarded ads are limited to 5 per day.
  • Interstitial ads may appear during natural app transitions and are frequency-capped.
  • Premium subscribers do not see advertisements and no ad-related data is collected for them.
  • Opt out of personalized ads in your device privacy settings.

14. Premium Subscription

  • We offer an optional premium subscription ($1/month) to remove all advertisements from the app.
  • Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your payment method, billing details, and transaction history per their privacy policy.
  • We store your subscription status (active, cancelled, expired), subscription period dates, and Stripe customer ID in our database to manage your premium access.
  • Subscription status syncs in real-time across all your devices.
  • When you cancel, your premium access continues until the end of the current billing period.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription in the app's Settings > Premium tab.

15. Rewarded Ads & Virtual Currency

  • You may voluntarily watch rewarded video ads to earn Rec Coins (in-app virtual currency).
  • Rewarded ad views are rate-limited (up to 5 per day) and validated server-side to prevent abuse.
  • We track the number of rewarded ads you watch per day for rate-limiting purposes. This data is not shared with third parties.
  • Coins earned from rewarded ads are credited to your account balance and can be used for in-app purchases.

16. International Data Transfers

  • Location of Servers: Our servers are primarily located in the United States.
  • Global Access: If you access Rec Soccer from outside the United States, your data will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
  • EU/EEA Users: For users in the European Union or European Economic Area, data transfers are conducted in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the use of Standard Contractual Clauses where required.
  • Data Protection: Regardless of where your data is processed, we apply the same security protections described in this policy.
  • Third-Party Transfers: Our service providers (Google, Stripe, etc.) may process data in various locations globally, subject to their own privacy policies and applicable law.

17. Who Sees Your Information

  • Teammates see your profile and team-related activity.
  • Opponents see limited info (name, position) for games.
  • OpenAI processes chat messages for content moderation (messages are not stored by OpenAI).
  • Service providers (hosting, analytics) help run our platform.
  • Ad partners (Google AdMob, Klipy) receive data as described in the Advertising section. Premium subscribers are excluded from ad data collection.
  • We may share data if required by law.

18. Data Retention

  • We keep your data while your account is active.
  • After deletion, we remove your data within 30 days.
  • Some data may be retained for legal or safety reasons.
  • Anonymized analytics may be kept indefinitely.

19. Your Rights & How to Request Data Deletion

  • Access Your Data: View and update your information anytime in the app's Settings.
  • Export Your Data: Request a copy of your data through the app or by emailing privacy@recsoccer.app.
  • Delete Your Account: You can delete your account directly in the app under Settings > Account > Delete Account. This will permanently remove your personal data within 30 days.
  • Request Deletion via Email: You can also request account deletion by emailing privacy@recsoccer.app from the email address associated with your account.
  • What Gets Deleted: Upon deletion, we remove your profile, personal information, and activity data. Some anonymized or aggregated data may be retained.
  • Third-Party Data: Deletion of data held by third parties (payment processors, ad networks) is subject to their respective policies.
  • Opt Out of Marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email, or adjust preferences in the app.
  • Opt Out of Personalized Ads: Adjust ad personalization in your device's privacy settings.

20. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

  • If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
  • Right to Know: You may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Right to Delete: You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell your personal information. If this changes, we will provide an opt-out mechanism.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA/CPRA rights.
  • Do Not Sell My Info: You can enable this preference in the app under Settings > Privacy Controls.
  • To Exercise Your Rights: Email privacy@recsoccer.app or use the in-app privacy controls.

21. Your European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

  • If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  • Right of Access: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You may request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to Erasure: You may request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances.
  • Right to Restrict Processing: You may request that we limit how we use your data.
  • Right to Data Portability: You may request your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
  • Right to Object: You may object to processing based on legitimate interests, including profiling and direct marketing.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent: Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting prior processing.
  • Data Controller: Attuned Ventures LLC is the data controller for Rec Soccer.
  • To Exercise Your Rights: Email privacy@recsoccer.app. We will respond within 30 days (or as required by applicable law).

22. Data Breach Notification

  • In the event of a data breach that poses a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify affected users without undue delay.
  • Notification Method: We will notify you via the email address associated with your account and/or through an in-app notification.
  • Regulatory Notification: Where required by law (e.g., GDPR requires notification within 72 hours), we will notify the appropriate supervisory authority.
  • Information Provided: Our notification will include the nature of the breach, likely consequences, measures taken to address it, and steps you can take to protect yourself.
  • Prevention: We employ industry-standard security measures to prevent breaches. Report any suspected security issues to security@recsoccer.app.

23. Children's Privacy & Age Restrictions

  • Minimum Age: Rec Soccer is not intended for children under 13 years of age.
  • No Data Collection from Children: We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
  • Teen Users (13-17): Users between 13 and 17 may use the app with parental consent and supervision.
  • Teams with Minors: Adults are responsible for managing teams that include minor players. The adult team organizer is responsible for obtaining any necessary parental consent.
  • No Direct Minor Accounts: Minors under 13 are not permitted to create accounts, even with parental consent.
  • Parental Rights: Parents or guardians of users under 18 may contact us to review, correct, or delete their child's information.
  • Report Underage Accounts: If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at privacy@recsoccer.app so we can take appropriate action.

24. Device Permissions & Location

  • You can control camera, photos, contacts, and location permissions in your device settings.
  • Location features only function when enabled and can be turned off at any time.

25. Do Not Track

  • We do not currently respond to browser "Do Not Track" (DNT) signals.
  • Use in-app privacy controls and device settings to manage analytics and advertising identifiers.

26. Policy Updates & Notification

  • We may update this policy as our services evolve or as required by law.
  • How We Notify You: For significant changes, we will notify you via:
    • Email to the address associated with your account
    • In-app notification or banner
    • Notice on our website
  • Effective Date: Changes become effective on the date posted, unless otherwise specified.
  • Continued Use: Your continued use of Rec Soccer after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
  • Review Periodically: We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed.
