Everything you need before the whistle.

Officiating rec soccer usually means a group text for assignments, a photo of your certification somewhere in your camera roll, and finding out the field changed when you arrive. In the leagues we run ourselves, the referee hub replaces all three.

Which leagues this covers.

Referee assignments run through Rec Soccer only for the leagues we operate ourselves — the ones where we rent scheduled field time and run the whole season on it. Today that is the Founders League: Friday nights on rented turf at Blue Ash Sports Center in Blue Ash, Ohio.

Facilities that host their own league on our tools appoint and manage their own officials. We do not assign referees there, and applying here will not put you on their list. The two league models.

If we open a league near you, this is how you would get on the roster for it — so it is worth applying even if the nearest one is not yours yet.

Getting started.

1

Apply once

One application: your experience, your certifications, and which of our leagues you can get to. Save it and come back — it keeps your place.

2

We review it

Your credentials are reviewed by us, because we are the league. You can see where the application stands instead of wondering whether it arrived.

3

Take the games

Once you are approved, set your availability. Assignments arrive with the field, the teams, the division, and the kickoff time.

What's in the hub.

Six tabs, and nothing you have to chase in a group text.

Shifts

The blocks you are working on a league night, in the same app as everything else about it.

Assignments

Each game you have been given: teams, division, field, kickoff. Changes reach you the same way they reach the players.

Availability

Say which nights and which of our leagues work for you, and change it when your life does.

Credentials

Certifications and documents stored once and reused, instead of being re-sent every season.

Safety

File an incident from the game you are actually on, with the protocol in front of you.

Profile

One profile that carries across every Rec Soccer league you work, instead of a new form each season.

Who this is for.

Certified officials

Bring your credentials and work the Rec Soccer league nights near you.

Coming back to it

Out for a season or two? The pathway lays out what you need to bring current.

New to officiating

The application shows the credential pathways, so you know what the level you want asks for.

Not near you yet

Apply anyway. Where officials put their hand up is part of how we choose where the next league goes.

Put your credentials somewhere useful.

The referee hub is part of the same app the players in our leagues already use.

How match fees work

Match fees are set by whoever runs the league. For a Rec Soccer league that is us. At the Founders League in Blue Ash we pay $25 per referee per game, paid after each game night. Games are 50 minutes at 8 and 9 PM, so taking both games on a night pays $50.

If you officiate at a facility that runs its own league on our tools, your fee is between you and that facility. We are not in the middle of it.
